AAP MCD poll candidate booked for flaunting revolver
Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Joginder Singh, an AAP candidate for the December 4 MCD election from Ward-19 Swaroop Nagar, for flaunting a revolver, an official said on Wednesday. The police action came after a video went viral showing Singh, alias Bunty, flaunting the revolver while dancing with four other people in a room, the official said.

Countering AAP’s campaign on alleged mismanagement of garbage disposal and BJP-led corporation’s alleged failure to flatten landfill sites, East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday said chief minister Arvind Kejriwal contributed little to solve the problem.
“He is talking about MCD and the Centre but has never told people what he and his government should have done to solve the problem. He should come out in the open and tell the public about that too,” said Gambhir.
Like the councillor is boss or leader of his ward, similarly the RWA will be the leader of its area and hold the status of mini councillor. Anyone who wants to get any work done need not approach a leader. They can simply go to the RWA and list drainage, water and electricity problems. RWAs will have the power to get the work done. The RWAs will be given funds to run their offices and get minor works done.

Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that if AAP came to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the residents’ welfare associations would be “empowered” and granted the status of “mini councillors”.Addressing a press conference on the December 4 civic polls, Kejriwal said his vision was “Janta ko Dilli ka malik banana (make citizens the master of Delhi).” He said, “I want to give a guarantee that AAP will launch a ‘Janta Chalalegi MCD’ scheme after being voted to power in the municipal corporation. We have often seen that people have to go to councillors for small works. People have to take the decision and MCD to implement it. In a way, RWAs, the bodies closest to the people, will be given the status of mini councillors.”

Ahead of the Delhi MCD election, AAP's trade wing on Tuesday announced '10 guarantees', including de-sealing of shops, resolving conversion and parking charges, for ease of doing business in the city.
