Jaipur: Six days after a dog was spotted with an infant’s body at Mahila Chikitsalaya, another newborn’s body was found near a temple close to the New Gate in the Walled City on Monday. The temple is situated barely 200 metres from the government-run Mahila Chikitsalaya. Police have taken CCTV footage of nearby areas to identify those who left the body. In preliminary investigation, police after consulting doctors found that it was a premature baby with an underdeveloped brain and either parents or relatives abandoned the baby.
Panic prevailed in the area when some passers-by spotted a baby boy lying near a temple. Police control room was informed, and a team of senior police officer of Lal Kothi rushed to the spot. “The baby boy has developed eyes, nose and every other part. The doctors stated that the baby was born prematurely with an underdeveloped brain,” said Surendra Singh Rathore, station house officer, Lal Kothi police station.
He added that police have collected CCTV footage of the nearby area to identify those leaving the body near the temple. “We have registered a case under section 318 of IPC in this case against unidentified persons,” Rathore added.
Meanwhile, in the dog carrying the infant’s body case, Rathore, said, “We are yet to get the record we had sought from the hospital authorities. Investigations are on.”
