A look at some of the most memorable results and stunning upsets in the FIFA World Cup:
Saudi Arabia beating Argentina 2-1: A come-from-behind result that added a new dimension to the World Cup.
Japan beating Germany 2-1: Another result that shook the world, especially the Japanese players' ability fight back from being 1-0 down Iran beating Wales 2-0: A victory of huge significance that has brought the country in turmoil close to Round of 16 qualification.
South Korea holding Uruguay 0-0: Not discussed as much but an equally important result. Korea were quite brilliant against a team full of superstars and kept them under a tight leash.
Big results in earlier World Cups:
South Korea beat Germany (2018): A 2-0 win a resulted in Germany's ouster from the group-stage.
Japan beat Colombia (2018): A 2-1 win against a team full of stars that helped the Asian giants make Round of 16. Led 2-0 against Belgium as well in pre-quarters before losing 3-2.
South Korea beat Italy (2002): Korea lit up a home World Cup with a comeback 2-1 win in Round of 16. South Korea beat Spain (2002): After holding a Spanish team full of superstars goalless over 120 minutes in the quarters, Korea ousted La Roja in the tie-breaker.
Iran beat USA (1998): The US and Iran met in Lyon, 19 years after an Islamic Revolution overthrew US-backed Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Team Melli upset the Americans 2-1 for its first World Cup win, eliminating the Americans after just two games.
North Korea beating Italy (1966): Unknown quantity North Korea stunned Italy 1-0 to make quarters. They led 3-0 against Eusebio's Portugal in the last-8 before the legend took over to make it 5-3.
