KRV faction stages protests against K’taka-Maha border issue
Belagavi: Activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Narayan Gowda faction held a protest on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway in Mahantesh Nagar on Sunday in Belagavi, condemning the misbehaving of MES members (Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti) over the border issue.
The protest caused a traffic jam for one hour.
The activists raised slogans against the Maharashtra government and the CM. Later, they burnt effigies of the Maharashtra CM in the middle of the highway and sat on a dharna.
The Belagavi city police succeeded in convincing protesters to withdraw the agitation.
Speaking to the media, KRV district president Deepak Gudagnatti said: “We, the Karnataka people, are very patient, but we cannot tolerance the misbehaviour of MES activists which are hurting us and Kannada Nadu. He further said that as the border case has been in court “we will not do any harm to Marathi people as they are our brothers. But MES members are blackening our state buses and hurting feelings of Kannadigas which can not be tolerable.”
Hence, PM Modi should intervene and help make peace in both the states. “As some of our MLAs are not speaking about this, in the upcoming election we will teach them best lessons,” he said.
