PUNE: The Hadapsar police arrested two Mumbai residents and recovered from their possession four of the 35 costly cellphones that were stolen on Friday night during a famous DJ's music concert in the city.
Senior inspector Arvind Gokule of the Hadapsar police told TOI, "We had received a total of 35 complaints of mobile phone thefts at the music concert. We have clubbed all these matters into a single FIR for investigation."
He said, "We arrested Abu Bakhar Mohammed Shaikh (43) of Santacruz and Yusuf Abdul Rehman (28) of Bhendi Bazaar in Mumbai on Saturday after tracking some of the stolen phones which the duo had not switched off. Four phones were recovered from their possession."
Gokule said, "The music concert was organised at a private property in Hadapsar where Shaikh and Rehman came from Mumbai on Friday with the sole motive of stealing cellphones. We tracked the stolen phones in the Hadapsar area itself as the duo had not left the city immediately."
