Thiruvananthapuram: Youth drowns at Kappil beach

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 27-year-old drowned while taking bath at Kappil beach with his friends on Sunday evening.
Vishnu, a native of Pangode, went along with six other friends for a marriage at Varkala and the gang later went to Kappil beach.
Only Vishnu and another friend got down into the sea to take bath and the others were standing on the shore. The other friend swam back after some time but Vishnu did not. It was then the friends realized that he was missing and they informed the local police station.
By the time police reached the spot, fishermen found him off Vettamukku, some 200m away from the accident spot. Though he was taken to Nedungolam taluk hospital at Paravur, his life could not be saved. Vishnu, a painter by profession, got married three months ago.
