Now available, group booking of UPSRTC e-buses

Prayagraj: The luxury electric buses of the transport department, plying at different routes of the city, would now be available for group bookings too. Be it for school picnic or taking family and relatives for marriage, locals can book these AC buses as per their demand.
“To enhance our earning and the welfare of the common man, the department has decided to start booking the e-buses for marriages as well,” said regional manager (RM) UP State Regional Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), Manoj Kumar Trivedi. Buses can be booked for 12 and 24 hours duration, he added.
To book an e-bus, the user will have to pay an amount of Rs 12,784 for 12 hours and the bus can ply for 180 km during the duration. At the time of booking, 25% of this fee will have to be deposited as advance. The bus can be booked for 24 hours too, which will have two slots, each of 12-hour duration. Presently, the city has a fleet of 51 e-buses. “These buses, having the capacity to run for 180 km in single charge, can be booked for running within the district owing to technical constraints,” Trivedi said.
For booking, an application will have to be attached along with marriage card or the cover letter of the school or institution. The official further said only reserved e-buses will be booked from charging station at Naini.
