Prayagraj: To mark the occassion of Constitution Day, various programmes were organised at North Central Railway (NCR) headquarters on Saturday. The constitution of the country was adopted, enacted and given to countrymen in the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949.
On this occasion, the Preamble was recited by the general manager, NCR Satish Kumar, in the presence of principal chief personnel officer ,Ajay Kumar Srivastava, and other principal heads of departments, senior officers and railway personnel.
A rally was also organized which was flagged off by the GM. A large number of officers and railway employees enthusiastically participated in the rally, holding banners and posters related to the constitution day.
A discussion and quiz competition on the topic ‘Constition and We’, under the chairmanship of Ajay Kumar Srivastava, was organised. Chief staff and welfare inspector, Ajay Kumar Sinha, was awarded the first place while while Preeti Kumari came second. Ranjeev Kumar and Mahendra Chaudhary bagged the third place while Dalip Singh was given the consolation prize. The winners of the competitions were awarded by the GM.
Reading out of preamble, display of constitution day posters/banners/standees, other activities related to constitution of India were also organised over three divisions and other units of NCR.
Likewise, the day was also observed at district collectorate wherein ADM City, Madan Kumar read the preamble of the constitution and administered the oath to staff members of the collectorate.
