Maharashtra: Mother dead, daughter hurt in slab crash

KALYAN: A 38-year old widow died while her 18-year old daughter was seriously injured after a slab of her house collapsed on her on Friday morning at Maharal village area in Kalyan.
Two other children who were at a distance escaped injuries. The deceased identified as Ranjana Ubale, was residing at Surya Nagar area in Maharal village situated in Kalyan taluka of Thane District. Ranjana's elder daughter Pragya who has been admitted to Sion hospital. Ubale's husband had passed away last year.
She was running the house by working as a maid. The incident took place at 3am when the family was sleeping at their chawl room. Suddenly, the slab of Ranjana's bedroom collapsed on her and her elder daughter. Her other two daughters informed the locals who rushed her to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead. Pragya has been shifted to Mumbai's Sion hospital.
