Jaipur: Amid factional fights intensifying in Rajasthan Congress after chief minister
Ashok Gehlot targeted his former deputy Sachin Pilot before the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) entering the state, a concerned central leadership of the party is sending AICC general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal to the capital city on November 29.
Venugopal is expected to hold talks with Gehlot, Pilot, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra and other Congress leaders here. According to the party, the success of the yatra in the party-ruled state is a major concern due to bickering among the leaders.
According to BJY state coordinator, minister Govind Ram Meghwal, the yatra could enter Rajasthan by December 4 or 5 and will culminate with a big rally at Malakheda in Alwar district before entering Haryana. Congress leaders from other districts are expected to join in the yatra in different districts.
“The yatra will enter Jhalawar from Madhya Pradesh on December 4 or 5 and will proceed to Alwar covering Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur and Dasua before culminating in Alwar on its 18th day through the state,” Meghwal said.
People walking with Rahul Gandhi have been divided into three categories. Those who will be a part of the yatra in their respective districts will be called district yatris. The second category will be state yatris—people who will be a part of the yatra for entire stretch in the state and third, guests who will be part of the yatra for a few kilometers.
Dotasra and the members of the 15 committees formed for BJY arrangements are touring the six districts through which it will pass.
