Ludhiana: An argument between two friends led to firing at a farmhouse at Ladian village on Thursday evening. An acquaintance of on the friends was injured in the incident.
The injured, identified as Rohit Kapila, 45, of Durgapuri area of Haibowal Kalan, was admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.
Acting on his complaint, Haibowal police lodged an FIR against Gurveer Gori of Basemi village.
Kapila claimed that he along with his friend Ravaljeet Singh Lali of Jagjeet Nagar and Ravaljeet’s another friend had gone to Lali’s farmhouse at Ladian. Involved in real estate business, they were discussing a residential project when Lali’s friend Gurveer Gori came to the farmhouse. He had a verbal spat with Lali over some land dispute.
“I and Ravaljeet’s friend intervened and tried to pacify them, but Gurveer started arguing with me too. Gurveer brandished a weapon and fired a gunshot targeting me. I suffered an injury on my neck. Gurveer escaped from the spot,” Kapila said.
SI Sukhwinder Singh, investigating officer from Haibowal police station, said a case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and Arms Act has been lodged against Gurveer Gori. The accused has been captured on a CCTV camera. tnn
