Man gets 20 yrs for gang-rape

Vijayapura: A local special Pocso court has convicted three persons in connection to a case of gang-rape of a minor girl in March 2020. While the adult accused has been sentenced to 20 years and a penalty of Rs 25,000, the two juvenile accused have been referred to the Juvenile Justice Board.
On March 23, 2020, the two minors had taken the minor girl, by saying they would take her to another girl’s house, and instead took her to Sadiq alias Razak Saleem Inamadar’s house. Later, Inamadar and the two boys had raped the girl.
Following the girl’s complaint, women’s police station PSI Shakeela Pinjar had filed a chargesheet.
Judge Ram Naik gave the judgment after special prosecutor VG Hagaragunda represented the government in the court.
