Maruti Swift vs Citroen C3: which is the better hatchback?

The C3 Feel 1.2 NA has more equipment than the Swift VXi, but it does not have the widespread network of Maruti Suzuki.

My budget for a new car is about Rs 7.5 lakh, on-road. I have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki Swift VXi and Citroen C3 Feel 1.2 NA. Which one should I go for?

Autocar India says: From a driving perspective, the Citroen C3 is a better option than the Maruti Suzuki Swift for several reasons. Firstly, the Citroen’s 1.2 NA engine is peppier than the Swift’s K12 motor, which has a weak mid-range. Where the Citroen blows the Swift away is when it comes to comfort. A combination of plush seats and a softly sprung long-travel suspension, absorb the worst of roads with ease. The Swift has comfy seats too, but can’t match the C3 for comfort.

However, the C3 suffers from irritating cost cutting and misses out on some basic features that spoil the experience. Also, Citroen’s service network is nowhere near as widespread as Maruti Suzuki’s.
