PUNE: The Talegaon Dabhade police on Wednesday arrested eight men, after the mother of a 16-year-old boy, who is currently lodged at a correction home, complained that 10 people assaulted and robbed her son of Rs 1,500 last month.
The boy also told her that the gang tried to stick a wooden rod in his posterior. Sub-inspector Sandesh Ingle of the Talegaon Dabhadepolice said, “We have arrested eight on charges of robbery, abduction and rioting under the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. ”
He added that the arrested men and the boy are from different gangs of criminals of the Talegaon Dabhade area. “The boy is currently in a correction home over the murder of a 19-year-old college student on November 6. The officer said the boy was threatened with dire consequences. “A search is on for the remaining duo,” said Ingle.
