Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:47AM

KIOCL(up 6.30%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.21%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.20%), Coal India(up 1.12%), 20 Microns(up 0.92%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.91%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.68%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.57%), MOIL(up 0.57%) and Dvpt Corporation(up 0.39%) were among the top gainers.

Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.93%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 13.35 points up at 18497.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 13.27 points at 62285.95 at around 10:47AM.

Larsen & Toubro(up 1.64%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.36%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.24%), Axis Bank(up 1.21%), Coal India(up 1.12%), Tata Motors(up 1.09%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.06%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.04%), NTPC(up 1.0%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.95%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever(down 0.95%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.87%), Asian Paints(down 0.74%), Nestle India(down 0.73%), Britannia Industries(down 0.62%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.6%), HDFC(down 0.58%), HCL Technologies(down 0.51%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.49%) and ITC(down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
