Owner booked after pet dog bites neighbour

Gurgaon: A 23-year-old woman suffered injuries on her face and hand after being allegedly bitten by her neighbour’s pet German Shepherd in Sector-37.
In her complaint, Priti Bhati claimed that she was attacked by the dog while she, along with two of her friends, was on her way to distribute cards for another friend’s wedding in her locality in Narsinghpur village of Sector-37 on Monday.
“When we reached near the house of Kailash, our neighbour, his pet dog suddenly came out and attacked me. I fell down to the ground and the dog bit me,” he told the cops. “When my friends started screaming, the dog went back. Neither the dog owner nor his family members came out of their house for help.”
An FIR under section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of IPC has been registered against the owner of the dog at Sector-37 police station. “We are also scanning the CCTV footage of the area to know what exactly happened,” said police officer Kamal Jeet.
