COIMBATORE: Unidentified people broke open four classrooms of the Kurichi Government Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore city in the early hours of Friday morning and stole a computer and other equipment.
On being informed, the Podanur police visited the
school and registered a case.
Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam organiser V Eswaran said the school does not have a compound wall and a night security guard. “We have been demanding the same for many years, but no action was taken. The school education minister should intervene in the matter and take necessary steps to construct a compound wall and appoint a night security guard. Otherwise, the organization will start a hunger strike in front of the school soon,” he said in a statement.
