Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.16% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:57AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Sanofi India(up 2.22 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 2.15 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 2.05 per cent), Biocon(up 1.68 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alkem Laboratories(down 0.91 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.31 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.24 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.12 per cent) and Lupin(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.16 per cent at 12908.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 5.05 points at 18479.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 53.0 points at 62219.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, , Ltd., UCO Bank and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , BSL Ltd, Ltd. and PNB hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , Educomp Sols. and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
