Around the beaches, ITDC is set to develop duty-free businesses

The International Trade Division of India Tourism Development Corporation, AITD, at an event, honored the achievers of the motivational scheme arranged in Delhi recently. AITD with the help of this scheme, has set financial targets related to the duty free shops located all over 14 seaports managed by the public sector corporation under the control of the Ministry of Tourism, India.

Under the motivational scheme, Navi Mumbai and Visakhapatnam Duty free shops became the winners. It was run by AITD-ITDC. The Managing Director, ITDC, G Kamala V ardhana Rao, and the Director ITDC, Lokesh Kumar Aggarwal, honored Mukesh Kumar Sharma, who represented the Navi Mumbai seaport Duty free shop. Also, A Venkataramana from the Visakhapatnam seaport duty free shop was also felicitated who were considered as the Platinum Star performer and Golden Star performer, for their performances.

After motivational scheme’s introduction, in the overall revenue and profitability, there has been record growth of the division in over a decade, the officials highlighted.


While sharing his views about the same, the director, ITDC, Piyush Tiwari, said that, about the results of FY 2021-22 of the division, ITDC is overjoyed. In the last 14 years, the financial performance of the division has been top, both in regards to the profit and revenue even during the tough times of the pandemic.
Tiwari stated that the main target is to develop cruise tourism in the region of the coastal towns of India.
