CM Shinde calls for discussion, Shetti cancels today's road blockade agitation
KOLHAPUR: Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana has withdrawn it's agitation- Chakka Jam- of blocking state and national highways from the state after president of the outfit Raju Shetti gets a call from the government to hold a discussion over the issues pertaining to the fair and remunerative price for sugarcane.
Minister of cooperation Atul Save has written to Shetti stating that the CM Eknath Shinde has requested to call off the protest and has invited for discussion on November 29.
Maha: Headmaster of ashram school booked for abetting suicide of teenage girl student
More than a month after a 14-year-old girl student of an ashram school in Palghar district of Maharashtra allegedly ended her life, police have registered a case against the headmaster of the institution on the charge of abetting her suicide, an official said on Thursday.
The case was registered against the headmaster of the ashram school located at Parli in Wada taluka of the district, he said.The girl had ended her life after consuming poison at her house in Wadavali on October 20, the police said.
Maha: Protest messages painted on Karnataka bus
Members of the Maratha Mahasangh on Thursday painted messages on a bus of the Karnataka State Road Transport to protest against Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai's statements on the border dispute.
Words "Jai Maharashtra" and "Jahir nishedh" (condemnation) were painted in orange and black on a Nipani-Aurangabad bus at Daund in Pune district, said one of its members.
They also shouted slogans against the Karnataka chief minister.
