35 new cases, dengue tally crosses 2,000 in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: The number of dengue cases in the state capital crossed 2000-mark with 35 more cases on Wednesday.
The tally reached 2033 since January and 926 since November 1. Of those tested positive, one was admitted to Lok Bandhu due to low platelet count while others were recuperating at their homes.
The city has reported nearly 445 cases of dengue in the past 11 days but health officials hope that as the mercury was dipping, the spread of the disease could be contained over the next few days.
"The condition of all those diagnosed with the infection is stable and the health department is closely monitoring their vitals. We have also seen a decline in cases due to change in weather and it is expected to come under control," said Yogesh Raghuvanshi, spokesperson CMO.
Highest seven cases were reported from Chandernagar followed by six from Aishbagh, five from Indiranagar and old city areas, and four each from Aliganj, Kaiserbagh, and Hazratganj.
