Jaisalmer: After a married woman undergoing treatment for fever at a private hospital died on Tuesday late evening in Gadara Road police station area of Barmer district, her family members created a scene and lodged a case of medical negligence against the doctor. Police reached the hospital and gave the body to the family members after the postmortem on Wednesday.
Further action will be taken on the report of the family members.
According to Govind Singh, brother of the married woman, Radha Kanwar (25) wife of Swaroop Singh and a resident of Nathusingh ka Banda Rohida pada was given a tablet on Monday for the fever. On Tuesday morning she was taken to a private clinic on Gadara Road Circle. He said, "At the hospital Dr. Suresh Mali administered an injection and drips. He also got some investigations done. Later he asked her to take a rest at home. However, her health deteriorated and on Monday evening she was taken back to the same doctor who sent her to the district hospital, but she died on the way to the hospital. The doctors at the district hospital declared her dead."
Singh alleged that due to the carelessness of Dr Mali, his sister died. She has two daughters and a son. Doctor got the dengue test but it was negative. When Dr Mali was asked he said that she died as her vomit got into the lungs. The family of the deceased have demanded strict action against the doctor. According to Sadar SHO Jitendra Singh the family members said that she was given the wrong injection due to which Kanwar died. The matter is under investigation and action will be taken as per the report of the family.
