Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) slated to enter the state next month, the Opposition
BJP plans to hold a parallel yatra, to be called ‘Jan Aakrosh Rath Yatra’ (JATY), and a series of public meetings of its senior leaders around the same time in the six districts through which BJY will pass.
At a meeting of BJP’s coordinators for the state, districts and assembly segments for the proposed JATY, the saffron party’s leaders said the yatra would “expose BJY by gathering double public participation” in JATY. BJY is scheduled to enter Rajasthan in Jhalawar and conclude in Alwar after passing through Kota, Bundi, Dausa and Alwar in the first week of December.
“Our first and foremost question to Rahul Gandhi would be what happened to his promise of waiving farmers’ loans before the Assembly polls. Since he is visiting Rajasthan, he should tell the state’s people why the promise of waiving the loan loads of 60,000 farmers remain unfulfilled,” said BJP state president Satish Poonia in his address to the meeting for JATY. JATY will start on December 1 and run for three weeks or till the state government begins its fourth anniversary celebrations, said BJP leaders.
