Jaipur: The Jaipur police on Wednesday arrested a 24-year-old youth who posed as an aide of slain gangster Anandpal Singh to demand extortion of Rs 20 lakh from a businessman. The Sanganer police station arrested the accused identified as Shoeb Khan alias “Softy,” from Dausa. Khan had made a WhatsApp call to a businessman in Sanganer on November 14, said police.
A married woman acts as bride, flees with cash, held
A 26-year-old woman who fled with cash worth several lakhs only a few days after her marriage was arrested at the Muhana police station on Wednesday. The police have identified the accused as Binita Mukhi, alias Sangita, a native of Assam. ACP (Mansarover) Hari Shankar said that a case was filed against her last year. She married a man in Abhaypura village last year under a forged identity. She also received Rs 14 lakh for the sham marriage. A few days after living in the house, she fled with jewellery of Rs 5 lakh. The police also found that she was part of a gang that acted as meditators to arrange marriages in different cities.
ACB nabs woman cop for taking bribe of Rs 5,000
ACB on Wednesday arrested a Sangita Meena, a sub-inspector posted at the Jamwaramgarh police station of Jaipur (Rural) for demanding and receiving a bribe of Rs 5,000.
