Cong alleges scam in roof repair grants

Ludhiana: Former Congress councillor Parminder Mehta alleged irregularities in issuing grants to the poor people for the repair of their roofs. He has made a complaint to CM Bhagwant Mann and vigilance bureau (VB) for a detailed investigation into the matter. Mehta alleged that in the previous government, cheques were distributed among the poor people and societies of various social and religious organisations, but in Central constituency, a scam took place and claims were given to non-deserving people.
He claimed tha his nephew Tikshan Mehta was named in the list, although he was not a beneficiary. When he went through it, he found wrong address was written against his nephew’s name. tnn
