Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.21% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:30AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.72 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 0.61 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.61 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.51 per cent) and Sanofi India(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alkem Laboratories(down 0.76 per cent), Granules India(down 0.55 per cent), Laurus(down 0.52 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.51 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.21 per cent at 12903.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 95.45 points at 18362.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 315.25 points at 61825.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Ltd., , Zomato Ltd. and UCO Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ponni Sugars, , Bikaji Foods International Ltd., Ltd. and Rail Vikas Nigam hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Uma Exports Ltd., Amiable Logistic(India)Ltd., Ltd. and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
