Minister takes note of pending NOCs
Ludhiana: Amid growing resentment of residents over the pending approvals of the no objection certificates (NOCs), local bodies minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar has asked the municipal corporation (MC) officials to ensure timely action.
The minister took note of the complaints which began to reach him with regard to pendency of approvals. Besides, the official may soon be made accountable to ensure the maximum time for issuing the NOCs is made 15 days. While reviewing the pending works of town planning wing on Tuesday, MC commissioner Shena Aggarwal directed the officials not to keep applications pending for more than two days. There are five steps for NOC approval, and applications move from building inspectors to draftsmen to assistant town planners to municipal town planner and then finally to the joint commissioner.
Besides since the officials failed to meet their recovery targets, show-cause notices will be issued to the concerned assistant town planners.
