India Covid tally: 294 new cases in past 24-hour period

India recorded 294 new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours.

The latest single-day number took India's total infection tally to 4,46,69,715 (as on Tuesday, 22 November).

Active cases fell to 6,209, as per health ministry data. The death toll climbed to 5,30,591, it showed.

The active cases account for 0.01 per cent of the total infections. The recovery rate in the country has risen to 98.80 per cent, the ministry said.

The active caseload saw a fall of 193 cases over the past 24 hours.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease rose to 4,41,32,915. The latest data shows the case fatality rate at 1.19 per cent.

According to govt data, 219.87 crore vaccine doses have been administered in India so far.
