Gujarat polls 2022: Devgadh Baria’s NCP candidate out of race

VADODARA: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate for Devgadh Baria assembly seat withdrew his nomination on Monday. NCP had got this seat after a seat-sharing agreement was made with Congress.
NCP candidate Gopsinh Lavar withdrew his nomination on Monday afternoon and went incommunicado. Lavar is a former BJP worker who had joined NCP.
Devgadh Baria in Dahod district now has four candidates in fray. The contest is expected to remain between two heavyweights – BJP’s Bachu Khabad and AAP’s Bharatsinh Vakhla. Khabad had won on the seat in 2012 and 2017. Vakhla had contested against Khabad in 2017 as a Congress candidate.
Vakhla joined AAP in August this year.
