Elton John will retire from road tours after ending the ongoing one in Sweden in July 2024. His last performance in the US took place at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, which was attended by 50,000 guests.

Iconic British singer Sir Elton John performed for the one last time at the Dodgers Stadium on Sunday. John closed the three-show run last night, concluding his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour for North America. The show saw an A-List audience turning up as the Original Sin artist gave his last performance in the United States.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour began in 2018 and will go on until July 2024, after which Elton John, 75, is expected to retire from road tours. Having his final North American performance at the Dodgers Stadium holds symbolic importance for the legendary artist, as it was here in 1975 when John reached the pinnacle of his career.

Dodgers Stadium was packed with more than 50,000 in attendance, including Paul McCartney, Jude Law, Donatella Versace, Billie Jean King, and other famous figures. John performed some of his most memorable hits, which included:

John said it was a very special and emotional night during the performance. He remembered Aretha Franklin, for whose “lasting genius” he dedicated the night’s performance. John also credited Los Angeles Times reviewer Robert Hilburn, whose rave reviews accelerated the singer’s career back in the day.

He added that he had been touring 50 states of the US for 50 years. John also called songwriter Bernie Taupin on the stage, his collaborator since 1967, and said he loved Taupin. In the end, John requested his fans to be kind to each other.
