Uttar Pradesh: River sailing expedition commences
An eight-day River Sailing Expedition - 2022 ‘MENU’ organised by 7 UP Naval Unit NCC commenced from Hargarh Bazaar Ghat in Mirzapur district on Wednesday. The expedition was flagged off by Mirzapur SDM CB Singh.
VARANASI: An eight-day River Sailing Expedition - 2022 ‘MENU’ organised by 7 UP Naval Unit NCC commenced from Hargarh Bazaar Ghat in Mirzapur district on Wednesday. The expedition was flagged off by Mirzapur SDM CB Singh. The boat expedition is being led by Commander Arun Rai, Commanding Officer, 7UP Naval Unit NCC, as Camp Commandant.
The expedition has been organised under NCC Group Headquarter ‘A’, BHU and NCC Uttar Pradesh Directorate Lucknow. As many as 60 cadets (boys and girls) of 7 UP Naval NCC, about 25 NCC unit personnel, three DK Whaler boats, one Gemini (search and rescue Boat) and one security boat are taking part in this sailing expedition.
The expedition will reach Ravidas Ghat, Varanasi on the evening of November 22 while sailing and pulling on boats through river Ganga. About 153 km of water route will be covered under this campaign.
During the journey, the boat expedition team will make a stopover in one village every evening. The places where the expedition team will make a stopover include Dangar (16 November), Nifra (17 November), Vishundharpur (18 November), Bhaurahi (19 November), Chunar (20 November) and Gangpur (21 November). The expedition will culminate on the evening of November 22 with a cultural programme at the 7UP Naval Unit NCC.
