Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said BJP will repeat chief minister Bhupendra Patel for another term after the election.

Addressing a public rally in Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, before accompanying Patel for filing his nomination on Wednesday, Shah said the people of Ghatlodia will serve two ends at one go in this election. They will elect both their MLA and their CM. He urged people to ensure that Patil wins by such a huge margin that Congress will need to spend two and a half months to find a candidate for the Ghatlodia constituency in the next election."People of Gujarat had seen the days when communal riots were common, especially between 1985 and 1995 (under non-BJP governments). Curfew remained imposed for 250 days out of 365 days (a year), he said.

Lashing out at Congress, Shah said,'' The Congresshas come wearing new clothes. Every five years they come saying we (Congress) are forming a government. They have put up a board here saying Work Speaks. Brother you have not been in power since 1990. So, how did you work?" Shah alleged that Congress wrote a list of all works done by BJP 'with the face of Soniaben'. "What do you take the people of Gujarat for? You will say and they'll accept? You don't have so much credibility. Credibility is what Narendra Modi has built," he said.

Raking up the Ram Mandir issue, Shah said BJP started the campaign from Gujarat and went through Somnath to Ayodhya and sent out the message to the entire country and world that 'mandir wohi banayenge' (will build the temple there). "Believers of the entire country wanted that where Lord Ram was born a temple should be built there. Then came the period of Manmohan and Soniaben. Congress started mocking us saying 'mandir wohi banayenge, tithi nahi batayenge (will build the temple there but won't say when," he said.

"Rahul baba mandir is now being built and if you want to go for Darshan get a ticket for January 2024. The grand temple will be operational," said Shah, adding that without shedding a drop of blood, the issue, which has troubled the country for so many years and lakhs of people and seers have sacrificed, has been resolved by Narendra Modi.
