Awareness drive for migrant workers

Berhampur: The Gajapati administration launched an awareness campaign on Wednesday to educate inter-state and inter-district migrant workers about labour provisions.
Sangram Panda, additional district magistrate, flagged off an awareness vehicle equipped with loudspeakers. In the next four days, the sachetan rath (awareness chariot) will visit all seven blocks in the district.
“Apart from raising awareness through the use of loudspeakers, we will also distribute leaflets outlining what inter-state and inter-district migrant labourers should and should not do,” said Loknath Panda, district labour officer. Panda further said they advised workers to store all details of the contractor.
