Jaipur: State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday asked his party leaders to remain positive on the formation of new districts as the state government has already formed a committee to consider such demands from different quarters.
A day earlier, MoS (home) Rajendra Yadav said he would not only resign from the government but leave the Congress party if the government failed to declare Kotputli as a separate district.
The Congress government had appointed a high-level committee under retired IAS Ram Lubhaya to study the feasibility of craving out new districts in the state following demands form MLAs. The committee is expected to submit its report shortly.
The PCC chief further said the party would ensure that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is expected to reach Rajasthan on December 3, does not face problems.
He said the people of all communities should rather welcome Rahul Gandhi who is raising the issues of the people like unemployment, price rise and communal harmony during his yatra.
A day earlier Gujjar Arakshan Sangarh Samiti convenor Vijay Bainsla had threatened that they will not allow Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Bharat Jodo Yatra to pass through Gujjar-dominated areas till their pending demands are fulfilled.
