Hindutva orgs to meet on Satish turf

Belagavi: Several Hindutva outfits will hold a convention focusing on the slogan “Nanoo Hindu (I too am Hindu)” at Yamakanmardi, Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi’s constituency, on Wednesday.
The convetion, where a Yuva brigade leader and two seers will speak, is expected to attract 12,000 people to Jarkiholi’s home turf days after he stirred the political pot when he spoke about the origins of the word “Hindu”.
Organisers said more than 12,000 people will participate in the convention, which will be addressed by Yuva Brigade head Chakravarthy Sulibele and two seers. According to sources, Sulibele and the seers will be on the dais.
Sulibele confirmed his participation. “I have been invited to the event as a guest speaker and I am attending it,” he said. A year ago, the social media followers of Satish Jarkiholi targeted Sulibele on Twitter.
Maruti Astagi, chairman of the Karnataka Handicrafts Development Corporation, who lost the last assembly elections to Jarkiholi by a small margin, said that the BJP was not organising the event but the party would support it.
