Nagpur: The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) estate department has proposed to directly allot land reserved for public institution purpose to a private school. The decision will be taken by board of trustees in a meeting organized on Wednesday.
The land measuring 16,080.82 sq ft land is situated in Industrial Area Street Scheme. “Shri Nagpur Gujarat Samaj has applied for allotment of the said land for educational purpose. Accordingly, the state government on August 18 has directed to send the report. Advocate Nishant Gandhi, secretary of Chhatra Jagruti, has submitted an application with the office of deputy CM on September 29. Accordingly, deputy CM has directed to check and do needful. Government’s prior permission is required if we have to directly allot the land to the Chhatra Jagruti. After receiving approval from the government, rate of the land will be fixed by rate fixation committee under NIT Land Disposal Rules. Then, the land can be allotted subject to norms. Therefore, the proposal has been put up before board of trustees for discussion and decision,” the department said.
On February 10, 1994, NIT had allotted the said land to Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Halba Vikas Parishad. The organization had taken possession of the land on February 17, 1994. But the organization failed to construct a building as per sanction or utilize the property for public purpose. Therefore, NIT had cancelled the allotment of land and conveyed the decision to the organization March 3, 2016.
The department also said there are two permanent constructions measuring 1,796.06 sq ft on rear side of the land.
The NIT board of trustees will discuss and decide 11 more proposals.
