30-year-old assaulted with lethal weapons, injured

Mangaluru: A 30-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a lethal weapon at Madaka in Bolanthoor village of Vittal police station limits by three men, who were known to him, while he was returning home after watching a kabaddi match at Punjalkatte on Monday.
Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonawane said the injured is Shakeer, 30, a resident of Bolanthoor. He along with his friends had been to watch a kabaddi match at Punjalkatte in his autorickshaw. After dropping off his friends, Shakeer was returning home when the incident occurred. Three men, including Sadik alias Kunda, waylaid the autorickshaw that Shakeer was driving and attacked him with a lethal weapon. Two others who were accompanying Sadik also allegedly assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences. It is said that personal enmity is the reason behind the assault.
The injured is recuperating in a private hospital at Kalladka. A case has been registered at the Vittal police station, under IPC Sections 341,323,324,504,506 and 34. tnn
