Workshop held on child rights

Mysuru: A workshop on child rights and protection organised for physical education teachers by Childline-1098 as part of Mythri campaign was held at the Government High School at Hootagalli on Tuesday.
Tahsildar R Girish asked the teachers to ensure the safety of children and students during physical education training. Though PE teachers play a crucial role in disciplining the children, they should not mentally or physically abuse children, he said. As cases of sexual abuse by teachers have shaken people, the tahsildar wanted both parents and teachers to be sanitized from time on time on proper values at school, home and in service. TNN
