Birsa Munda carrier of India's spiritual energy: PM pays tribute to icon
NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the nation is moving with the energy of 'Panch Pran' to realise the dreams of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and crores of 'Janjatiya' brave hearts. The PM asserted that expressing pride in the tribal heritage of the country through 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' and development of the adivasi community is part of that energy of 'Panch Pran' (five pledges) for the country outlined by him in his Independence Day speech in August.
The PM's remarks came as part of greetings to the nation in a recorded video message on the occasion of "Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas" as he paid tributes to tribal icon and anti-colonial warrior Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary. As part of celebrations, in another event, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar along with MPs paid floral tributes to Birsa Munda, at Parliament House.
In his message Modi said that November 15 is a day "to celebrate Adivasi tradition as Bhagwan Birsa Munda was not just the hero of our freedom struggle but was a carrier of our spiritual and cultural energy". The country is marching on to fulfil the dreams of Munda and many other tribal heroes, the PM added.
