Man gets 20-yr jail for abduction, rape
Kota: A POCSO court here on Tuesday convicted a 21-year-oldman to 20 years of jail for abducting and repeatedly raping a 16-year-old girl, a class 10 student, for around 7 months over three years ago in Kaithun police station area of the district and slapped him with penalty of Rs 65,000.
The man was identified as Suresh Nayak, a resident of Manas village under Kaithun police station of the district, public prosecutor at POCSO court-II, Vijay Kachawaha said.
The culprit had abducted the minor survivor and took her to several places in adjoining Madhya Pradesh, where he repeatedly raped her and kept her as his wife in 2019, he said. Police, after around 7 months, rescued the minor from Ujjain in MP and on the basis of her statements, arrested the accused and booked him under sections 363, 366, 376 (3), and sections of POCSO Act. He was later released on bail, the PP said. Statements of at least 17 witnesses were recorded during the trial and 28 documents were produced before the court, P P Vijay Kachawaha said.
