10 murders in 13 days in Bhojpur worrying: ADG Jeetendra Singh Gangwar

ARA: As Bhojpur witnessed 10 murders in 13 days (between October 31 and November 12), including seven murders at Ara, senior police officials claimed that state police headquarters was keeping a constant watch on the crime incidents at Ara.
ADG (headquarters) Jeetendra Singh Gangwar on Monday told reporters at Patna: "The recent incidents of murders at Ara are being investigated at the level of DIG (Shahabad range). The DIG held a day-long review meeting with all the SHOs and SDPOs in Bhojpur district on Sunday and gave necessary instructions to them.
He said, "The Town SHO has been suspended for laxity in duty. The police headquarters is also keeping a constant watch on the situation at Ara."
Talking about the ongoing investigation in the kidnapping and murder of Hariji Gupta, a prominent jeweller at Ara, the ADG (headquarters) said: "The police were informed only after the crime had been committed. Gupta went missing on November 2, but the police were informed on the November 3. However, the police acted immediately as soon as getting information about him being missing."
Talking about the murder of Akash Bhai Patel, the nephew of Bhim Patel, Bhojpur district JD( U) vice-president, the ADG (headquarters) said: "In this case, the DIG probed the case and suspended Town SHO for dereliction in duty."
Meanwhile, Shahabad range DIG, Kshatranil Singh, who held a review meeting with all the SHOs and SDPOs in Bhojpur district on Sunday, told reporters: "A named FIR against six persons has been lodged in the murder case that occurred in Sheetal Tola under the Town police station."
