MUMBAI: Ex-Mumbai police officer Sachin Waze has approached the Special PMLA court for bail in the Enforcement Directorate case.
He said he was never arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and has been in judicial custody in connection with the Antilia bomb scare case, being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Since cognizance was taken last September in the PMLA case, he is now seeking bail citing the law laid down by the Supreme Court in a latest judgment. While his plea for bail was rejected earlier he cited new circumstances that the main accused Anil Deshmukh the ex Maharashtra home minister got bail in the case and his application to become approver has been consented by ED.
The court posted the matter for orders on November 18 after hearing his counsel Sajal Yadav and Sunil Gonsalves for ED who said bail cannot be granted as there is no change in circumstances since his bail was rejected earlier.
