India at the UN climate talks (CO) on Monday said some developed countries must reach 'net zero' emission even before 2030 instead of demanding more and more action from developing countries, reports Vishwa Mohan.
"Unfortunately, with every decade, with every new agreement, with every new scientific report, more and more action is demanded from developing countries. If goalposts are changed constantly, it will not yield results but only words and promises," said the country's environment minister Bhupender Yadav while intervening at the ministerial high level roundtable on pre-2030 climate ambition of countries.
He also flagged that the rich nations have not met even their pre-2020 commitments together and several individually as well.
