GURUGRAM: Two men alleged that a group of 10-15 men in two SUVs waylaid their path in a village in Farrukhnagar and beat them up when they were on their way to vote for panchayat polls on Saturday. The victims alleged they suffered injuries. An FIR has been registered.
The victim Praveen Kumar told the cops that around 4pm he and his friend Vikas were riding on a motorcycle towards a government school that was a polling station. Just then, two Scorpio SUVs, one black and another white, intercepted their way. Around 15 men got down from them and started beating him.
"Among them was one Rajbir with whom I have an old enmity. The men kicked and punched me while threatening my friend Vikas to leave. The men were trying to lift me and throw me in their car when the villagers gathered after hearing my screams," as Kumar stated in his complaint.
However, before leaving, the men threatened to kill him. The villagers rushed Kumar to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Police said Kumar has received injuries at four spots out of which one requires surgery.
