Uttar Pradesh: BSP leader's teenaged son dies of dengue in Jhansi

JHANSI: A 17-year-old boy succumbed to Dengue here on early Monday morning following kidney failure.
Virendra Ahirwar, a student of Class XII was son of BSP's Bundelkhand coordinator Lalaram Ahirwar.
Virendra was admitted to a private nursing home on Saturday after week-long fever became critical where he was diagnosed to be infected with Dengue virus and his blood platelets decreased alarmingly, said his father.
"My son succumbed early Monday morning after both his kidneys failed. He was a bright student", Ahirwar told TOI.
On the other hand, CMO Jhansi, Dr Sudhakar Pandey said he has asked the nursing home to provide details of the deceased which are yet to come.
Meanwhile, following a surge in the number of Dengue cases, the district administration has geared up to fight the deadly viral fever. On Monday, DM Jhansi Ravindra Kumar instructed the Nagar Nigam officials to intensify fogging in the entire city besides sprinkling anti-larva disinfectants in the water-logged areas.
