Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Indore Constituency Shankar Lalwani sent a memorandum to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to include ‘Nepali beer’ in the excise policy of the state on November 14. When questioned about the memorandum, Indore MP Shankar Lalwani said that the people of Nepali community had met him and requested that ‘Nepali beer’ should also be allowed. “People of the Nepali community met me, submitted a letter saying that the way government had given facilities for forest dwellers to make liquor, their drink called ‘Nepali beer’ should also be allowed to be made. I forwarded that letter to CM,” said Shankar Lalwani.
