Man falls from train, dies

Mandya: A man was killed and another was seriously injured when they came under the wheels of a moving train near Maddur railway station.
The decesed is Maruti, 23, a resident of Segepalaya in Bengaluru, while the injured is Nagaraju of Mudalapalya in Bengaluru. He is being treated at Nimhans.
Railway police said Maruthi and Nagaraju, who are friends, had boarded Kochuveli Express train at Mysuru on Friday. They accidentally fell from the moving train at Maddur station. Maruti died on the spot, and Nagaraju was rushed to Mandya district hospital for treatment. Following doctors’ advice, he was later shifted to Nimhans, they added. The railway police have registered a case and are investigating. tnn
