CM: Film bazaar to be main attraction along promenade
Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the film bazaar that would be set up along the promenade of the Mandovi would be the main attraction for the 53rd International Film Festival of India (Iffi). “The film bazaar will have stalls from various states. It would be open for all and people should visit the event,” Sawant said.
Sawant said that the state government has made all arrangements, including setting up of necessary infrastructure, to make Iffi successful. “Only six days are left for the inauguration and the department concerned has set a deadline to complete everything within time,” Sawant said.
He said that all the guests will start arriving for the festival from November 18 onwards.
Sawant along with officials of Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and other departments conducted an inspection of the various Iffi venues. Sawant said that international filmmakers, actors and guests are excited to attend Iffi at Goa.
The CM said that the chief guest for Iffi is yet to be finalised and that it would be decided by National Film Development Corporation of India (NDFC).
In the Goan ection at Iffi, ten short and one feature film entry has been received, and the selected movie will be screened at Iffi. To benefit Goan filmmakers, four masterclass sessions have been organised from November 23 to 25. The subject for these classes would be script writing, acting, direction and cinematography. Noted directors, actors, among others, from the Marathi and Hindi film industry will share their experiences.
