Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.52% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Ashok Leyland(up 3.08 per cent), Tata Motors(up 2.88 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.84 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 0.56 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.47 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 2.64 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.78 per cent), MRF(down 0.43 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.43 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.52 per cent at 13108.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.7 points at 18334.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 155.9 points at 61639.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., BHEL, and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Phantom Digital Effects Ltd., , , Ircon Intl. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , ., United Drilling, and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
