Jaya Bachchan recently opened up about her period experience and recalled how ‘awkward and embarrassing' it was to change ‘sanitary towels’ behind bushes or go to fields as there were not enough toilets on sets. During a conversation with her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda on her podcast, Jaya said, 'I used to have a lot of difficulty during working. While recalling how basic amenities, like enough toilets, lacked on sets earlier, the veteran actress further added, 'It was terrible having periods during a shoot. When we used to do outdoor shoots, we had no vanity vans, we had to change behind bushes. There were not even enough toilets, you had to go on a field or a mountain top.
